Looking for a Camp Ground close to Forsyth Missouri?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Looking for a tent or cabin rental no more than 30 minutes from Forsyth, Mo. That accepts pets, has an outside pool, and lake access to swim in. Anybody have any suggestions? Would rather stay away from Branson. Wanting to go closer to Theodosia or Gainsville. But would take other suggestions.

Looking for a campground that has a fishing lake and nice play area for kids.?

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Does anyone know where I can find a nice campground with cabins or tent sites on a lake for fishing that has a nice play area for the kids? I have already looked at KOA. I need something in NC, SC, or Tenn.
Thanks in advance. If you know the website please give me the link.

Below are links to the State Parks of each state you mentioned.
Best of luck to you.

Tent with sleeping bag or Cabin…How would you rather camp?

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

I’d say tent..I’d want the full experience: )

If you are not in a tent, you are not really camping. A cabin is the same as staying in a hotel

Is their anyone who has an Aliner, Expedition Cabin A that has added the add on tent? That fits on SUV’s?

It sleeves onto your unit without making it permanent?

Yes, but I just couldn’t get the hang of installation and had to return it. It took me over an hour and I was done.

Should we sleep in tents or spring for a cabin with a heater for a camping trip we are going on over New Years?

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Last year when we were just bf/gf we went Winter camping and stayed in a tent in this lovely campground run by a really nice couple. They had a New Years Party for all the campers plus we got to watch the Rose Parade followed by a football game in Pasadena Ca the next day. They had a fire going in the fire place and it was soooo nice. We met some really nice older people too

Ok, they e mailed me and said that a family that was coming had to cancel and wanted to know if we wanted their cabin. It’s two bedrooms with a small kitchen (and a bathroom with a shower). This year we are Man and Wife (lol lol) and I’m the wife (pregnant wife at that!!). Two other campers will be going with us. Two little teenage age boys who happen to be sooo very gay. One is my younger brother and the other little boy is my husband’s younger brother. They recently came out of the closet to us their loving and super tolerant older sister and brother lol. They are still deeply embedded in the closet with our respective parents and thinking that they are only two good friends our families suggested that we take them along. I think the cabin is a better option because my husband and I can supervise them better. In a tent who knows what might happen with those two alone. I’ve already told them that Nothing!! gay better happen between them accept holding hands and goo goo eye looks at each other. The cabin is like more expensive but I think I could get the parents to pay the extra cost (maybe the entire cost because he and I don’t have much money).

definitely spring for the cabin with the heat! It’s winter! you don’t want those 2 gay boys to have to keep each other warm with just body heat.

camping in a park with a tick problem will staying in a cabin be better then a tent?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I am going camping for one night so i can go to washington d.c. in the morning. All the campgrounds in the area have tick warnings. One park even basically told me it was so bad i shouldn’t come. the washington d.c./koa didn’t tell me not to come but did say the ticks were bad. I have the option to stay in a cabin or use my tent. will staying in a cabin avoid any ticks or is it just as bad as staying in a tent?

also …. ive never been camping at a campsite before … anything i should know??

Ticks can get in the cabins too. However, most places that rent cabins spray them or have an exterminator spray them for termites and other insects.

If you are thinking of staying in the cabin, call the campground and ask if the cabin has been sprayed for ticks and if so, how long ago.

Many chemicals used today have some short expirations, even when an exterminator applies them.

We always spray our campsite when car camping as we are in an area that has tick problems. We carry a water hose and the type of handheld sprayer that attaches to the hose. It is very easy to use.

We use Ortho or Spectracide outdoor insect products. Read the label carefully.

Set the dial to the rate per gallon as specified on the chemical you are using. This is usually 1.5 to 3 ounces per gallon.

Hook up to the water at the site and spray. Don’t set up any equipment until after the area has dried. We spray as early as we can and set up camp as late as we can.

We have found this to be very effective in getting rid of ticks, fire ants, ants, spiders, chiggers, and red bugs. It helps some with mosquitoes.

Since you are only going for one night, you may want to forget spraying and just bath yourself in 100% Deet and take a shower in the morning.

The thing you should remember when camping at a campsite in a campground is that it has been used over and over. Maybe even the day before you get there. A lot of times, the campers before you were not as neat as you, and dropped food all over the ground. This food is attracting all the insects in the area. Be especially careful in the sites that have the gravel pads as the food works under the gravel and you can’t see it to get it out of your site. You also can’t see the insects as well on this gravel surface.

And is the food good?

when i went their was a rock slide near our cabins so they paid for half of the price to stay at a nice hotel

if you were in a remote cabin and tent to bed at 8:00 at night and set the old wind-up alarm closk t wake you?

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

its a crazy riddle my boyfriend just bet me 10 dollars i couldnt solve in 5 min…..I lost…now he wont tell me the answer cause i wont pay him…whats the answer to this riddle
i meant to say..went to bed and set the old alarm clock to…
i meant to say..went to bed and set the old alarm clock to…
ok..so i left off part of the riddle..oops sorry..ok so you set the alarm to wake you at 9:00 in the morning…how long would u sleep b-4 the alarm woke u up?

To wake you at what? 9:00? Then it would go off in an hour because you can’t set an alarm on wind up clocks at a time which is more than 11 hours and 59 minutes away. A wind up alarm clock doesn’t know the difference between AM and PM. Once it comes to the time you set it then it will go off.

I get the feeling your boyfriend caught you typing on the computer and stopped you so that you couldn’t get the answer from us.

EDIT: Like I said, it would ring in an hour because you can’t set it for 13 hours time on a wind up alarm clock. You would set it for 9:00 (no AM or PM on those things) and in an hour it would go off.
